Let's talk about what's Moving and Grooving you today [2023-07]

Yes it’s very hard to fight against good music.
Sometimes needs a second and third listen to fully take it in.

Currently testing speakers and brought about 70CDs . They even got an Arcam SA30 that I could test them out with.

First up ProAc Response DT8

Will they allow home auditioning?

Yes one set come to my house to be trialed.
These things sound frickin great, thou Ozzy just pushed the bass to a point which was a bit boomy. Almost everything else has sounded amazing. Done Norah Jones, Dire Straits, Crosby Stills and Nash, and then Eleine, Therion, Ozzy and now some Pink Floyd.

Moving onto the next set soon.

Yes, I do like ProAc speakers. The DT8’s have good reviews.

I guess with the tweeter off-centre you’d be able to affect the sound stage, wide and narrow like I do with my Sonos Fives when stood up on end (row of three tweeters). In the right setting it does work.

Well, not one to be left out of the fun today. My AT headphones have just arrived.

Positives so far
• lightweight
• build quality good, quality plastic (plastic has its uses, prefer metal and wood)
• great storage case
• should come with 3 cables, 1 short, 1 long straight & 1 long stretchy cable. (Only 2 came with mine :disappointed:, short and long stretchy)

Negatives so far
• simple packaging but too many plastic bags used

Sound reproduction
too early to give an opinion, however totally different from my Sundara’s. Punchier bass and crispier mids, treble not as airy as the Sundaras, but is still sweet and honest. A few days of listening will be needed to compare truly.

For the cost a very nice pair of HP’s.

Just made a step up to the Dynaudio Evoke 30s

I needed to put the bungs in to control the Bass (no Dirac set up) but hey sound incredibly smooth. Like a much better version of my Dali Oberon 5 s

Just posted the Next ones, Evoke 30

Same here. I’m dishing out IOU posts now.

Wow spending a bit then, retirement present?

IOU

My fear for this audition is the rear port of the Evokes will be a little over powering in the bass due to minimal room treatment.

They do look nice. They do them in white also.

How far from the wall are they?
