Lets talk about whats Moving and Grooving you today! [2023-11]

With a lyrical nod to The Sound Of Silence. Cannot agree that it’s their best song, maybe one of their most commercial. But, each to their own. :slightly_smiling_face:
BTW why does Tyler Warren get a mention? I know he did a one man version of Permanent Waves, but he doesn’t play on the Rush version. Very odd!

That’s a Roon metadata quirk; not from my tagging.

I’ve also got the CD but with all of the retail inserts…excellent album :+1:t2:

This has been really bugging me for some time. I have almost stopped looking at buying CDs from BandCamp now for that reason.

Yeah, I noticed it on my Roon version also. Had to go and check my vinyl, on the off chance that I had missed something.
I’ve noticed a few odd things with the metadata in the last couple of weeks.

Best as in “on that album” or as in “they ever recorded”. I can agree with the first, but, not the second.

You do start to wonder if they really, as they claim, have the artists interests at heart…
The occasional “no fee” Fridays would be far more productive if the administrators got off their asses and sorted the freight cost issue out…

I’m not sure who is doing this, as it is different for different record companies. I don’t think it’s a Bandcamp thing.

I recently bought some that were under £3 delivery. There is definitely something broken in this model. If they give 50% retail to Amazon (or whatever) yet keep almost 90% at Bandcamp and then charge another 100% for delivery.
It’s a little strange.

One of my favourite albums for this time of night.

I mentioned that album the other day because “Together” is a great song and Midge Ure played on it and co-wrote “Yellow Pearl”.

Edit: mentioned it to an Ultravox fan.

There are some very good, and moving, songs on the album. I particularly like “Fatalistic Attitude” and the depiction of despair. :slightly_frowning_face:

Midge briefly played in Lizzy I think it was when Gary Moore left the band at very short notice.

Didn’t see any mention of this yesterday, apologies if someone already posted it.
Geordie Walker, guitarist in Killing Joke passed away. I was never a huge fan of KJ, but he was a cool guitar player.

Love this atypical picture of him with Sade.
