Lets talk about whats Moving and Grooving you today! [2023-11]

Never got on with his solo work. Loved Verve was fan from the very start of their journey saw them in Wigan and Manchester a lot back in the day. For me This is Music just can’t be beaten, although I have a real soft spot for their debut and early singles. I have Storm in Heaven on white label vinyl. Lost interest after they reformed although Urban Hymns is a good album it lacked the space rock I loved them for. He has a fabulous voice and was a great performer and front man but solo the music didn’t back it up for me.

Good to know that, though I do not use either of those services and have not bought an MP3 in years.

I saw the note from @Enough that they looking to do a new CD release so I will wait for that to be posted here and I have Tidal CD quality for now

Tbh Apple AAC is very good I have several that compared to the flac versions on Qobuz and don’t really sound any worse for the most part. It will bide me over until the CD is out again. Also gives me options as to where I can play it.

Are you sitting down? My wife bought this vinyl!
I’m not a super huge fanboy of his, but I like the Verve and a fair few of his solo songs. This is an interesting listen, some nice strings and alternate versions. Wife is happy, so i’m happy.
I wasn’t in the mood for vinyl browsing yesterday, was happy to sit with a beer and listen to the selections being played in the bar/shop - https://www.loafersvinyl.co.uk/

Richard Ashcroft footnote: C’mon People (with Liam Gallagher) is a cracking little pop song. Probably the best song Crowded House never wrote.

This sounds wonderful!

Where did you use those for? That’s a lot of storage…

we kept the visit to the audio show short: it was unbelievably crowded - we could see people, hardly any equipment, let alone listen…
So used the time to visit some dealers for EV’s and “enjoy” the permanent rain…

No, I think @AceRimmer was into 8 track but I never was.

How was your visit today?

@TheRiz
What’s the scribble on the cover, to the right of Joe’s head?

The last track ‘Song For Emma’ is a real heartbreaker. Joe lost his three year old daughter
in a car accident. Can’t imagine how that would feel.

I was telling Mark (the guy who owns it) about Professor Yaffle. “they would be perfect for a gig in here” Says me. Of course he had never heard of them, but I sent him a wee taster. Would be a great meet up place if he can get them booked in next year at some point.

I think I have this, so I need to set some time aside to go through what vinyl I have and add it to Discogs (and Qobuz) so I can remember when I use Roon.

Actually rather short. There were way to many people there - it was so crowded that we hardly could see equipment and the listening rooms were also unreachable…

I’ll start the necessary saving…
