Linn DSM not connected

Unfortunately, I still don’t have a solution for the network issue with my Majik DSM device.
The device is connected via LAN to a wall socket with a Fritzbox 7530, to which a synology diskstation is also connected. A Roon server on a MacBook Pro is also connected to it via LAN.
I have tried the following variants:
A) Connection fritz.box with DSM via another LAN cable: Contact established, both Linn app and Roon app are running.
B) macbook pro connected to fritz.box via LAN wall socket and DSM connected via LAN cable: also works - with both Roon and Linn app

Unlike other devices, the DSM has a problem with the connection via the wall socket.

Is this a issue with my network or the DSM?

Everytime you change something LAN related, make sure that you perform a reboot.
I many cases it solves the problem

In this case I have always restarted Apps and devices, but the issue remains.
Perhaps another use of devices solves the issue: ad a nucleus One or macmini as Roon Server and connect with the Majik DSM. But then there is the question how connecting in Best Audio quality. There are only RCA or toslink Inputs in the DSM.

Linn gear is rather picky about network hardware. Powerline ethernet adapters seem in general problematic for streaming (or so they are in my experience with several different brands), so what you report is not surprising.

It is not a powerline Connection but a LAN cable in the wall. With other devices the connection in the network works well.

Try connect this way:

Router – LAN cable – LAN socket Wall – LAN cable – a small switch like Netgear GS105 – LAN cable – Linn DSM.

I am quit sure this will work just fine.

Hello Torben,
I’ve bought a switch (tp-link TL-SG1005D) and now this works fine!!!
Thank you very much for this hint.

Hi Günther

Great  Make sure to use U/UTP cable between the switch and your Linn

I use this:

Or any other U/UTP cable. Just make sure it is U/UTP

Thank you again, Torben!
