Hi @patrick_mccarthy ,
The team is still working on reproducing this, once we have more details we will be sure to reach out. I have added some more time before the thread auto-closes to ensure we have enough time to investigate this.

just a quiet bump to keep the thread open while roon developers work on the ticket
We’ll make sure the thread remains open. Thanks!
hello roon - any update on this bug? I just looked and local playlists are still not available
Hi @patrick_mccarthy,
We sincerely apologize for the delay in getting back to you. We attempted to reproduce the playlist issue with the Alarm Clock extension but were unable to replicate it. To assist you further, could you please provide more detailed reproduction steps? The more specific information you can share, such as exact actions, or settings the better equipped we’ll be to investigate and resolve the problem. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to address this!
so i am using macro.on extension - uses the same api as the alarm clock…
here is a subset of playlists in my roon app - all the old tests for this bug ticket:
you will note that the first 3 are local and the last is in TIDAL
now:
below is a screen shot of a task editing a macro - the dropdown shows the list of playlists - it does not show any local playlists - EVER… the developer of macroon says the api doesnt give out that data…
I have a short video recording of the steps if you need it - I will have to generate a share link as this forum will not let me upload a video…
Hi @patrick_mccarthy,
Thanks for getting back to us with those details.
Yes this would be very helpful to let us proceed with our investigation.
sent you a dm with a share link
Thank you for your ongoing patience. We’ll have a more thorough response shortly.
Thank you again for your patience and for bringing this issue to our attention. Development has a ticket in the pipeline - we’ll post another response here as soon as the fix has been released into the Early Access branch for testing. From there, the fix will merge into a future public Roon release.
thank you, can I get into the early access to test the fix? If so, how do I sign up?
Hi @patrick_mccarthy ,
You can read about Early Access in our Knowledge Base article below:
Please note that the ticket is still in the developer backlog, work has yet to begin. The ticket is still in the pipeline, but it will take more time before it’s picked up. Thanks in advance for your patience!
Oh my gosh I’m glad I found this thread. I was going absolutely crazy thinking I did something weird with my RooMax. Phew. At least I know I’m not insane. This is a pain in the butt, but at least it’s fixable!
@noris just out of curiosity, is this going to be the same piece of work to allow SmartPlaylists to be exposed in the API as well? That would / will be a very big piece of functionality for the RooMax / other remotes.
Many many thanks!
well, it might get fixed because I opened this in Aug of 2024 and its still going…
@connor and @daniel - any real progress on this?
Hi @patrick_mccarthy,
The bug fix ticket is still in our backlog and has not been forgotten. While we can’t provide a specific timeline at the moment, please know that we’re continuing to monitor it closely.
We understand your frustration and appreciate your patience as we work on resolving this. As soon as we have more information, we’ll be sure to update you.
Thanks again for your understanding, and feel free to reach out if you have any other questions.
I also wish that the Smart Playlists will become accessible in the API
Oh man me too. Oh please.
