I just recently purchased HQ player the desktop version, September 4th 2024, but I am having problems with the software recognizing my roon software. On my system I have the Mac air M2, the room server is the I5 Sonic transporter from sonore, also I have the optical rendu as the music player. My music server the I5 Sonic transporter is not in the same room as the optical rendu but everything is on the same network. I have tried to add HQ player into the roonlabs audio portion of their software but every time I play a track from room the system tells me that the two software packages fail to connect. I’ve been looking over the user manual and I just cannot figure out what I am doing wrong. Also, my roon server software (Setup and Audio section)no longer recognizes the I5 sonictransport or the OpticalRendu. everything revert back to the Mac air as the server.I have tried delating the roon app from my Mac Air and reinstall but that has not helped. This is the secound time this issue has occurred. Can you help me with that
Here are the official instructions:
From your description it sounds like you are running Roon on a Mac? In this case, when adding HQPlayer to Roon, you need to specify IP address of your sonicTransporter. Since Roon unfortunately doesn’t support HQPlayer auto-discovery, this IP address should be a static one. Otherwise you would need to re-add it every time the IP changes. Since in your case HQPlayer is Embedded product, you can skip over the “allow network control” part, since Embedded always allows network control (the only way to use it in first place).
But first it is important to check that HQPlayer can play standalone without Roon. Because if HQPlayer cannot access your DAC or there is some other configuration issue on that side, Roon would just complain that it cannot connect to HQPlayer. But it would be harder to know whether the issue is between Roon and HQPlayer, or between HQPlayer and your DAC.
