Lost connection with my QNAP Roon Server

Have a QNAP TVS-471 with latest software version 4.3.4.0483
RoonServer with latest software version running
Installed RoonServer: 1.4 (build 294) stable
QPKG-Version: 2017-10-03
Remote Roon on an iPad Pro running latest version

Was working with no issues and then it no longer recognize the server from the iPad, so no way to play music. Audio is to a Devialet 220 Pro that has always worked well with the RoonServer.

No firewall, same wifi and have not changed.

Any ideas ?

Can you log in to the QNAP by IP address and see if Roon is running?

Yes it is running

Sometimes Roon has a hard time starting on my iPad. I usually force close the app and reopen it and that usually cures it. Is the iPad your only remote? Can you run it on a laptop or desktop computer?

Are you aware of anything that could have triggered this? (e.g. QTS or RoonServer update…?)

  • As John mentioned: I’d check (if possible) if you can connect by a different remote and try to close the app.
  • If that does not work out, try to restart RoonServer (or the whole QNAP)

well there have been two updates on the QNAP operating system and coincidence or not, not working anymore

I’ve sent you a PM to follow up.

Hi Alexandre,

were you able to resolve your problem?

Could you reboot your NAS? I had a similar problem with my QNAP which worked fine with everything, also with the Roon server but was unable to recognize my DAC. When the NAS wasn’t able to reboot (watch the NAS and not the browser tab window), I thought a RAM module could be the culprit, exchanged both modules and found everything working fine after that. The RAM was correctly shown in the NAS’s system and no fault was recognised there.

Good luck
