How long wil the D2 receive software updates before it becomes EOL/obsolete?
I have the opportunity to buy a unit but i am reluctant to take the jump.
Anyone has some views on this?

Lumin are absolutely superb with respect to firmware updates.
Even their original player, the A1 from 2012, is currently updated with recent firmware.
Lumin are absolutely superb players. I speak from experience. Buy with confidence!

Lumin A1 2012 just received a 11th anniversary firmware update 6 weeks ago.
D3 is better than D2. The former offers a newer DAC architecture based on ES9028Pro, DSD256, and supports Tidal Connect.

Can confirm that my 2012 A1 received said update.
@PeterD it will depend upon price and condition. If the D2 is in mint condition and you’re close to half-retail, then yeah I would think about it. But if you’re looking at a price higher than that, I would strongly consider a D3.
