I’ve had a D2 for several weeks and it sounds just phenomenal in my system. I’ve recently thrown a ton of $$ into upgrading my preamp, amp and speakers. I’m just wondering what kind of SQ improvement I would get with an S1 ? Has anyone done this upgrade ?

The new Lumin flagship is X1. From the entry level D2 to the flagship X1, you’d get significantly improved details, dynamics, imaging, transparency, etc. Over at audioshark forum, there’s a user vinci92 who owns both a D1 and an X1.

My friend just upgraded to the X1! If you don’t want to spend more money, don’t audition it! Once you do, there is no going back.
