Lumin U2 To external DAC

Can I assume that a Coax Cable is more “compatible” than a USB cable ?
Thanks.

If your DAC has a USB input then that would be preferable as it can handle higher sample rates.
However, if you have both inputs then try both, you may prefer the SQ of one over the other. It’s a contentious topic but trust your ears.

Thank you.

USB DAC functional compatibility (i.e. plays 44.1kHz) is generally not an issue these days unless you’re using a really old DAC (that requires drivers on Mac OS) - you may state your DAC model if you have one and are considering to use a Lumin with it.

Coax pretty much always works unless there is a fault or flaw somewhere.

There are PCM sample rate and especially DSD rate differences between USB and coax.

Depending on the DAC, one connection may sound better than the other type. This needs to be determined experimentally by yourself.
