Mac as Core - does not wake from sleep when using phone or tablet

Hi everyone,

Is there anyone Who knows why the Mac (used as roon core), when enter the screensaver (‘cause you were not using it) don’t allow to open again the app on the phone or tab? You need to move mouse and re-enter the desktop of the Mac!

Hi @luca_palummo,
The Mac is going to sleep, thus the Roon Core is no longer running and hence the remotes can not communicate with it.

This tool should help to prevent this from happening.

you may not need Amphetamine.

Check under Energy Saver and select “Prevent automatic Sleeping When the display is off”

But it might work with just “wake on network access” being turned on.

Simple - your Roon core Mac should never sleep, or you need a reliable way to wake it beofre playing… like wake on network access. But I found this to never work, so I leave my Mac on all the time.
