I am new to Roon, but would like to automatically add any track Favorite (heart filled in) to the playlist, and I would also like to add all history items to a playlist all at once instead of one by one. Are there shortcuts for making large playlists and adding more than 1 favorite to a playlist at a time?

I’m not sure about your history question, but with regard to a playlist of favorites, Roon does this for you. In any view (Track, Album, Artist), simply click on the heart icon at the top of the list and Roon will focus on your favorites. Here is my Album browser with my favorites selected.
