Can anyone let me know the maximum amount of tracks the Nucleus Plus can handle? I currently have 230,000 tracks. Info online states that the Nucleus Plus can handle over 100,000 but no upper limit appears to be stated. Thanks. Steve W.
Hi Steven,
The Nucleus +, with the right amount of memory can handle up to the high 100ks in tracks as reported by some. At 230k, I think it should work fine, with 16 or 32 gb RAM. (If you plan on a lot of growth I’d go with 32 GB).
Just an opinion, I do not have a library that large.
On a nucleus+, we’ve seen people running 500k, 750k, and with a ram upgrade, even a million+ tracks.
The stock ram will be more than enough for 230k, and much much more.
The reason you aren’t getting and exact figure is because the figure depends on what music you have. The majority of the limit comes from the extended metadata, like credits. That credits growth can be explosive or not, depending on what music you have.
Great. Thanks Daniel and Danny for both of your comprehensive responses, most informative.
