Checked again with the Dutch distributor, I can connect a 218 to my 818 by speakerlink and then I have OFs plus an analogue output, but that may also cause an additional few msecs delay on the analg output. The difference in SQ doesn’t seem to be worth it, so I’ll probably leave things as they are (or otherwise consider the new DSW2 Sub). Thanks for the support anyway!
@Peter_Overbosch I think if it was me I’d live with the issue. The differences are so small, too small to be worth fretting about and interfering with your enjoyment of what is, after all, a very good system.
It works now! That may have come with the latest Roon update - and I didn’t pay enough attention up to now. I don’t know, but suddenly it works. Don’t worry about why, be happy. Just hope it won’t disappear as suddenly as it came.
While this update adds MQA capability to the .2s, the update to standard PCM handling is to my ears pretty fantastic too. An unexpectedly large upgrade… to my ears anyway…
