I have migrated my Rock server to a Mac Mini M2 Pro.
I had two music data disks. 1 nvme 4 TB internal ssd (in a NuC) and 1 external usb disk.
My Mini can’t read the internal data disk from my Rock server. Is that normal? I thought it was formatted as exfat, so my Mac Mini should read the thing? Am I missing something?
Yes it was probably formatted ext4 on Rock.
I did a similar migration last year and ended up putting a new disc on the Mac and keeping the one on DietPi as a backup music drive.
You can always reformat them but you still need a place where the backup is stored whilst you do copy the data again.
Thanx. That’s it. My bad. I thought it was formatted as exfat and MacOs could handle that.
So I think I have to copy all the files (2 TB) over the network to another drive.
Well, I need another new 4 TB drive for my NAS so we do it the complex way.
Good luck with the transfer.
The M2 Pro should run Roon very nicely.
I run it on an M4 Pro and it works sweetly
