Migrating from SMB based library to internal storage on the ROCK

Hi there
I have just installed ROCK on a supported NUC, and it seems to work great.
I backed up my existing database, and restored it without any issues.
My music files are located on a NAS right now, but I would like to have them locally on the ROCK, so I have installed a disk for it, and formatted it from the web gui…
I copied my files into the Data share Storage → InternalStorage…
But how do I point my existing CIFS based library to the local storage without having to rescan everything?
In the Roon GUI it is disabled right now (Roon Optimized Core Kit Internal Storage), as soon as I enable it, it starts a rescan, as if it was a new library…
If I try to exit the existing CIFS Storage, I cannot see the local ROON storage…
So I’m a bit puzzled…

Any help is very welcome…

Disable the NAS location from Settings > Storage, and then add the local storage. Roon will scan, but the releases will be identified as already in the library, so date added, edits etc. will be preserved.

Hi @Heino_Walther,

Adding to @mjw good advice, what’s very important is that Roon does not see both watched locations (NAS and local) at the same … as this will result in Roon adding new database records for the local files rather than updating the current ones to now reference the the local storage).

Thus make sure the Watched folder to the NAS is disabled before Roon sees the local files.

Would the same advice apply for migration from NAS to ROCK-attached external USB drive?

Yes. The important point is to disable the current storage location before adding the new.
