#1 is clearly a feature suggestion, there is already an extant topic:
#2 I’m not really sure where that’s going, is not the answer is to take and maintain regular Roon DB backups. Roon validates the status of the DB before taking the backup these days so we know it good at the time.
There are reports of some Roon users having performance issues, but from what I’ve seen these are where there is circa a million tracks (100K) with tens of thousand of track per artist.
I believe Roon acknowledge these extreme case present a problem for Roon, but it’s a whole lot more complex than “just” sliming down the DB a little … play history & statistics are trivial compared to mesh of data that Roon holds. Logs files are already managed and limited to 20 files and these are outside of the DB.
