Hi everyone,
I am a experienced plex user, and a new Roon addict!
But there is a feature of Plex that I miss, to see the most “known” pieces of an artist.
This allows to have the top 10 music of an artist for example
Maybe add most famous song with Last.fm source ?

For exemple
Just out of curiosity: What’s wrong with the current Top Tracks list?
Current top track just shows the files most often read locally.
This API can show most famous track for a band (ideal for discovering a group starting with the classics)
In this exemple " Don’t know why" is the most famous song of Nora Jones (vote made by the Last.fm community)

I think that could be part of the information provided by Roon.
After all their credibility has always been to provide the more and more informations 
At least this is unquestionable as the source is clear. 
In your two examples (last.fm and Plex) I can clearly see two different lists with the most what ever track as only constant. Different sources provide different lists.
I can already see the potential for many (unnecessary) discussions about personal taste, preferences and their own opinion as well as what one might see as the right source for such information which will be held by the users who are interested in the content and order of the titles in such lists while others (the majority?) might just ignore such lists which they can not determine themselves, potentially connected with the wish to hide such unneeded stuff. See also the discussions about album/track ratings.
I guess everyone has to choose sides should this feature become a reality in the future. As Roon tends to only show tracks/albums that are actually playable, it might be only available to users with a streaming service enabled anyways.

You are right !
In the case of plex, Plex get Last.fm & MusicBrainz top tracks, et map it to local files, if a trakc is not available locally, track is not shown.
Of course, the debate can be endless! But being based on the top tracks of Spotify / Quobuz / Tidal / Last.fm / Musicbrainz would be possible.
The Roon database contains a good number of user readings.
In short, this is possible in all cases!
Overall, the top 5 see top 10 are almost identical regardless of the supplier
