Moving from NUC to Nucleus plus / Lifetime subscription

Under the motto ‘don’t assume anything’

I have a Roon lifetime subscription and running ROCK on a bare-metal NUC. My music collection is becoming too large for my 10-year-old NUC to handle smoothly. I was thinking of buying a new NUC (12 or 13) but I came across a very nice-priced Nucleus Plus which I will buy tomorrow.

Just to see if I got it right. When I start using the Nucleus, after having powered down my NUC, my Roon application won’t find the ROON server and will offer to connect to another server, which would be the Nucleus.

I take I can de-authorize the NUC and authorize the Nucleus to use my lifetime subscription?

You can shut down your NUC or leave it running. When you authorize your Nucleus, you will unauthorize your NUC whether it’s running or not. You can have multiple Roon servers running at the same time, but can only authorize one at a time with one license, lifetime or otherwise.
