As I wrote elsewhere, it’s quite possible that the studios are producing multiple MQA encodings for commercial reasons. This is not what MQA Ltd. intended, but we are where we are.
My assumption is that one of these – and my guess is that it’s the lower original sample rate one – won’t sound quite as good in a full decode scenario.
