Multiple versions of same artist linking to incomplete content

Content you’re reporting an issue with

When i search for an artist named “Lizzy McAlpine,” I get 3 instances of her. One links to albums, the next links to singles and EPs, and the last one links to a single collab. Can’t navigate to her singles (except for one called doomsday) from the albums page. I own the single of this but can’t find it through Roon. To get to the listing of singles, I have to select a different Lizzy McAlpine. A third instance links to one single she appears on. PS I have no problems navigating to the artist intuitively from within Tidal nor from within the DCS Mosaic app.

Have you made any edits to this content in Roon?

NO

Is this content from local files, TIDAL, or Qobuz?

a mix of local, mostly tidal.

Description of the issue

see above

Hey @andrew_campbell,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. As always, we appreciate the heads up here.

These kinds of issues are common when artists with similar names are lacking rich metadata sufficient to trigger equivalence associations. We’ll take a look at how this information is reflected on our metadata providers’ side and see what can be done. Please understand that corrections of this kind are addressed as system wide fixes, we don’t make prescriptive adjustments on a case by case basis.

If you’d like to merge these separated entities in your library please follow these steps:

  • Add an album by each of the three Lizzy McAlpine entities to your library

  • Then go to your artists page

  • Select all three Lizzy McAlpine’s

  • Click Merge artists (in the top right corner of the Artists page)

Select one of entities to act as the Primary artist. When merging artists you’ll want to set the primary artist as the one with the most detailed artist bio, etc, in order for these metadata assets to appear.

You can unmerge artists at anytime by going to Setting>Library>Un-merge artist (unmerge button appears at the far right of the page)
