Did you try configuration C?
How is the sound quality? Are there more desynchronizations?
Hi Daniel
I try to make 4 Master but it doesn’t work… I have drift.
Thanks for your help !
I don’t understand several things :
- how can you choose input in AES/EBU or Digital 2 ? Configurator chooses always AES/EBU.
- on Devialet 2/3/4, what configuration file do you use ? Master file ? If yes, (I try), they are not synchronized and I have drift because Master config doesn’t wait for Digital 1 input…
I’m lost, sorry for that.
Only MASTER configuration files are used, so you can select any input you want.
Yes, MASTER file.
Please see here below picture for configurator using RCA cable.
For AES/EBU cable, input on DEVIALET 2+3+4 (“fake” COMPANION) must be changed from RCA to AES/EBU.

OK thanks a lot, I try it tonight
How do you configure Digital 2 on fake companion ?
Do you think this config could be used with 2 Devialet 1000 ?
In this case, I need to configure second Master as fake companion (and I keep “normal” companions) ?
It’s standard input configuration: Digital Input (SPDIF).
I think it is not possible, because you can not set two outputs from MASTER, nor output from COMPANION (except for the subwoofer, which is not suitable). Such an output is required on the first Devialet 1000 to send the signal to the input of the second Devialet 1000.

It Works !!
Incredible =
I still have sometimes vanishing left or right or drift, I don’t know why…
Maybe because my 4 ethernet cables are not exactly the same
I changed cables, sometimes works perfectly, sometimes music moves… a little bit like when I had two independant Devialet 1000 without any link between us
The same thing happened to me when I tested variant C: random interruptions and gaps between channels.
Note: I tried the C version some time ago. Maybe in the meantime Roon has improved in this regard.
I suspect you are using the Roon RAAT protocol: it is a protocol that requires quite a lot of networking. Eventually try the Devilaet AIR protocol. This is much easier for the network. However, I don’t know if Roon allows grouping in an area if you use the Devialet AIR protocol.
