Hi
I have my Core on my NAS. To get ARC to work do I port forward on the NAS software or on the router?

Thanks

What is the exact port forwarding error message you see in the Roon Settings → ARC tab?

On the router. The router forwards traffic that arrives at the external IP address at the given port to the Roon Core on the NAS.

If you’re on a synology with the firewall enabled you may need to allow the port in the firewall, im using the default port as your not using quick connect for the connection.
Plus open the port on the router as above.

Thanks both.

I think it’s working although I need to go outside my house LAN to check.

Phil I have the firewall on my Synology on default…I’ll do a walkaround first before changing it…thanks!

BTW I have a pretty average DS218+ and Roon core just works effortlessly in my house…the Roon advice seems to advise against a NAS as a core but no problems here. Of course ARC may change this

I’m on a 720+ and don’t have any issues, I did try an m2 mac mini and it was slightly faster.
I guess you may see issues applying dsp, upscaling etc but i don’t do any of that, plus mine is also recording from 4 ip cameras at the same time without any issues.
