New release for you inundated with cheesy classical compilations

Anyone else’s ‘New releases for you’ inundated with classical compilations? I love me some classical music, but when 30-40% of my new releases are albums like Debussy “Autumn Adagios”, “Sweet Lullabies” or endless Karajan releases… it feels like I’ve been hacked.

i think this is a Qobuz related issue.

I noticed the same.

Same here. I note that two Labels seem to be guilty of this recent slop: Warner Classics and Urania Records.

I’m a Qobuz subscriber - is it the same for Tidal subscribers?

But the Qobuz App is not showing these records. It’s only happening within Roon.

It seems to be the same with Tidal.

Yup. Almost choked on my breakfast. Apart from Thelonius Monk, this slop looks like “Attack of the AI”.

Urania is a reissue label that takes out of copyright material and republishes it under its own label. the sourcing is unclear, and the whole enterprise seems somewhat unethical, albeit legal in some markets, particularly France. this sort fo classical (and jazz) slop is my primary issue with Qobuz.

i don’t know why Roon amplifies it.

Funny we got similar “new releases for you” items
Not really sure how these are picked, since my library and recent Roon listening habits are mostly IDM/techno and ambient music (local files + Tidal)

Same here. I don’t listen to enough classical to get these recommendations. Something is amiss.

I’m not alone here! I’ve noticed this over the last months — especially from Warner Classics and DG — but was afraid that if I said anything I’d be mocked for being snobbish. Learned my lesson. Not possible to out-aesthete this crowd.

Same. I’m trying not to feel insulted.

Same for me. I have a grand total of four classical albums in my library and I currently have 18 classical album recommendations in new releases for you. Annoying. If my mother couldn’t turn me on to classical music, I’m pretty sure that Roon can’t either!

This should be a bug

(yes, I’m infected)

getting a kick out of how bad this has become… lets see… what else is like Nathan Watts, the bass player for Stevie Wonder:

This is also affecting similar artists, e.g. Fatboy Slim

Has anyone opened a support ticket yet?

Yes me too. Complained about this many times.

I have the same issue, plenty of classical compilations of no artistic value in the New Releases list.

And also seeing a similar thing in “Your Daily Mixes”

Almost all my listening and library is classical and jazz.

I have a bunch of rap, old brit pop and some 60s/70s disco offered up.

Pointless entirely for me.

Is there a way in Qobuz or Roon to “ignore” labels?

This has been going on for a very long time with cheesy compilations - see this thread from Feb 2021 -
