It’s not a new steaming service but just read Tidal will have true lossless hires files by August. They just started to rollout to their early access customers. They also said if on the regular CD quality level they will be replacing MQA version to true lossless as well. Probably give them another chance for a month to see if Qobuz is missing anything.

I am using Qobuz app today man it sounds sooo good even via Bluetooth. Apple Music on the go requires more bandwidth I feel like.

Hi LP album had great and very extense information about artish, versions , in classical music reading about the piece: style, technical info sbout the work, …. Lots of things completly dissspear with present streaming and downloads
It was a way to learn and understanding lots of things
Not entirely correct - a lot of classical albums streaming on Qobuz provide access to the PDF version of the booklet that comes with the CD. Same if you buy the album from Qobuz, Presto, HiResAudio, etc. Not always, but a reasonable percentage of the time. It’s one reason I’m keeping Qobuz after the free trial period, in addition to my Tidal sub.

Idagio has limited Booklet coverage , notably on newer releases , I am to soon to see how comprehensive that is.
In the dark old days (pre Roon) I listened with an iPad Mini permanently tuned to Wikipedia , Roon just makes it easier.
The info is there is you want it , you may have to “work” for it, booklets are another thing

I was just describing what I have in majority ( not all), LP albums in my 1200 items collection
Imho it would not only be a great thing for lovers of classical music, but also for ROON itself, if they cooperated with Idagio.
- It brings many many different versions of all sorts of classical music to the listeners
- ROON can give the metatags and information that may be terribly interesting for the classical public
- It might be a great new market for ROON and for Idagio.

I imagine it requires agreements technical developments and so on.

I was thinking of looking into cryogenics and asking them to wake me up when Spotify HiFi comes out as I don’t think I will live long enough otherwise to see it.

Again never going to happen, been discussed to death already. They will only sanction it on Apple hardware and not using Roons playback engine so no DSP or bit perfect plus their DRM BS.
They mentioned new streaming services coming in 2023 and they’ve only released one so far. So that’s why asking for any updates makes sense. We are due for at least one more this year.
Seems we can rule out the big ones. No mention of Amazon. Deezer said to have stopped working with others. Apple willing to work with roon but only allowed on Apple products. Spotify doesn’t seem to work with anyone. Rumor has it that their new hires 24 bit Supremium tier is supposed to come out this month. But Spotify release schedule is unreliable. Hopefully Tidal will provide update to allow true hires thru roon, Tidal Connect and others shortly.
Searching the forum instead of chanting would probably find you the official answer, i.e. that Apple would put so many restrictions on it that it wouldn’t be Roon anymore, and so is not going to happen as long as this doesn’t change

I feel KKBox is it, can’t see what else can be added that’s of any worth and would have the resources to work the Roon way.
