No longer as disappointed with 1.8 as I was. Found a work-around for disappearing audio zones every time I started ROON: I opened Task Manager, located RAAT Server in Background Processes, clicked End Task, and if I do that each time before restarting ROON, all of the Audio Zones connected to this PC are magically there.
