Perhaps you might consider starting a “Now Playing Some World Music” thread? I’m sure that it would be of interest to many of your fellow members. By the way, Rabih Abou-Khalil is an outstanding musician and I enjoy all his recordings, evn the ones that stray far from “jazz”.

not in my collection, have to have a look for it…

I do like Ravi. Fave would be Improvisations. He was way ahead of his time and much copied by psych, rock and jazz bands.

think his favour he got mostly because his connection to george harrison

Indeed. Theres the album he did live with George isn’t there from around 73.
Theres also a wonderful sitar compilation called Electric Psychedelic Sitar Headswirlers.
Thats got some wonderfully tripped out music on it.
Highly recommended.

there was something before their connection…

that´s new for me too! have to have a look…

where´s the difference?!

Back on topic, this wonderful recording has Patrice Rushen showing off her substantial jazz chops. Available on Qobuz. Give it a listen and I think that you’ll be pleasantly surprised.
