I believe that the two collections are the same since the run times match (7 hours and 50 minutes). Plus The Complete Argo Mercury Sessions is available on Tidal and Qobuz. Good catch Rick!

A recent discovery. Sarah Chaksad Large Ensemble - Together
Available on Tidal and Qobuz, both in high resolution.
Nicely recorded with good instrumental balance, a wide soundstage and a very uncluttered sound for such a large group.

Thanks for sharing good information on your different post. Makes it much easier to look up.

Torben

If you look back on my many posts to the Now Playing Some Jazz threads, I usually try to include other information besides just a picture of the album art. Makes for a more interesting post and, as you said, makes it easier for others to locate and listen.

Could also be listed under ‘ambient’… or even ‘doom jazz’, although it is more airy than doom. From France. Note the Twin Peaks reference.

Jim Hall, Attila Zoller, Red Mitchell, Daniel Humair - Rille: Hanover '73 (2024)

A very nicely recorded (and I do mean it since the sound is superb) concert from 1973 recorded by NDR. A bootleg recording shared by a friend, so it’s not identified by Roon nor is it available on Tidal or Qobuz, although it may be available on Qobuz in Europe (I’m located in NJ, USA).

This wonderful remastered set “In San Francisco” by The Cannonball Adderley Quintet is a blast and beautifully recorded. As stated in the review by Anthony Tognazzini "Outside of Something Else, In San Francisco may be the saxophonist’s defining moment "
