Now playing some sweet Soul, R&B and Funk

“No One” will dispute “Empire State of Mind (Part II) Broken Down” but there’s more beautiful R&B that had fewer listeners…

she does a good job, asks for forgiveness and that means everything and we will also listen to it falling unplugged…

Just a few days ago she had been performing on stage, now singer Sarah Dash has died unexpectedly at the age of 76. Her friend and long-time bandmate Patti LaBelle says a touching farewell.

A good song from the world music in the trend of the time and yet R&B is never quite lost in the time spirit of hip-hop, pop, electronic…

I’m a big fan of Simply Red :+1:

I never expected to see Bette Midler make this thread but I love it :grinning:

Funky. Wait for it to kick in

…and of course Roon can invite us not only with Qobuz but also with Tidal to a fine day with lots of music.

One of the greatest collaborations.

An all-round stellar cast:

  • Philip Bailey – lead vocals and backing vocals
  • Phil Collins – lead vocals and backing vocals, drums, keyboards
  • Nathan East – bass
  • Daryl Stuermer – electric guitar
  • Lesette Wilson – keyboards

Great recording (I love it), but I don’t feel that it’s stood the test of time. And I’ve never been quite sure about Daryl Stuermer’s guitar playing; always a bit thin sounding. Perhaps it’s because his solos on PC work always sound like they’ve been thrown in to fill a space?

Production, yes agreed. But the song & collab itself is so classic, it will live on forever.

Don’t tell me you don’t bust your your Philip Bailey falsetto when it comes on in the car :grinning:

Funny you say this because as I type this, I was just thinking at how well this next track stood the test of time, production wise.

Just wow

Good morning, is there a way to insert a link that directly opens the album or title in Roon?
