Nucleus not detected by Roon on Mac despite reinstall and static IP setup (ref#0WSJGL)

Just reading through your initial post.

I missed you said about a Mac update. Have a quick read of the linked post below and see if the steps mentioned help.

Thanks. The Nucleus is Rev A does not say Titan on it? But yes both are connected to same Eeros device. Just one Eeros device.
modem says e31n2v1

Yes I did that several times to no avail

Hey @James_Cortez,

Thank you for the clarification! You are correct here, you’d need to plug it into a monitor or display.

I do believe that it is network-related - I’d continue to investigate the possibility of multiple subnets in your network, and your machines being on different subnets.

Let me know if you’re able to gain access to your router settings to investigate this further. Thank you!

My error :man_facepalming:

Ok, an easy setup and the type Roon likes :+1:

I would try and connect the Nucleus to a TV without the Ethernet cable connected. You’ll still get white text on the screen, but will say something along the lines it cannot connect to the network. This would indicate the nucleus powers on and boots up normally.

If no text it could be a failed power supply or failed Nucleus.

Then as instructed above, follow @benjamin instructions.

yes as stated I have the Eeros app what do you want me to look for? The Nucleus is not listed anywhere to find the subnet? If I have that right lol I’m not a tech at all lol

Hey Mr Flibble thanks so much again.
It would be quite a task to unhook it in here and take it out there and move everything to hook it up to tv but I will try to do that asap. In the meantime just so you know, it seems the Nucleus powers on and boots up as I can see the light on the power button glowing.
I have done what he said and wrote the hardware people as well

Hi @James_Cortez,

You have my apologies here - I’m not specifically familiar with eeros networks and their respective apps.

When you downloaded the app, did you successfully connect it to your network? Do you see other devices listed?

Try:

  • Open the eero app and tap Settings in the bottom right corner
  • Tap Switch Networks at the bottom of the page
Do you see additional networks?

No need to apologize I appreciate your help.
I do not see ‘‘switch networks’’ anywhere on the app nor under settings?

Hello @James_Cortez,

Thank you for the update.

Let’s start by confirming that the Nucleus is booting correctly. Please connect it to your TV via HDMI and take a photo of what appears on the screen.

Next, connect a keyboard to one of the Nucleus USB ports and type the command:

resetnetwork

After that, reconnect the Nucleus to your network — ideally while still connected to the TV — and check what is displayed in the EREOS application.

Hi Everyone sorry for delay I got busy. I will connect to tv today and let you know what happens. @vadim I have an Eeros extender by my tv will that work for network connection? Should right? Thank you

Hi @James_Cortez,

Apologies for the delay here. Yes, the Eero extender will work fine in this case, especially if you are relying on ethernet between the extender and the main router.

Were you able to successfuly reset the network interface on the Nucleus per @vadim’s instructions?

From there, we have some additional recommendations that are specific to Eero networks.

Eero uses the subnet mask 255.255.252.0 to support multiple IP addresses, covering four Class C blocks (192.168.4.x - 192.168.7.x), ensuring devices in this range can communicate.

Sometimes, Roon’s device discovery traffic won’t cross between these separate Class-C blocks - they behave just like multiple VLANs.

What does this mean? Basically, you’ll have to go into your Eero router settings and ensure that t

  1. Go to Settings

  2. Select Network Settings

  3. Tap DHCP & NAT (under Network Services)

  4. Choose Manual IP

  5. Set the IP Address Prefix (for instance: 192.168.0.0)

  6. Enter your Subnet IP (for instance: 192.168.7.0)

  7. Set the Subnet Mask to 255.255.255.0

  8. Define the IP Range (for instance: 192.168.7.2 to 192.168.7.254)

This should ensure that the Nucleus and Mac aren’t getting their line-of-sight broken up by the Eero firmware.

Please let us know if this helps. We’ll watch for a response.

Hi and thanks for waiting for me had issues all good now. So I hooked it up to TV and got this message, see photo. Looks like the Nucleus is cooked? Thanks again

well just looked it up guess its the internal ssd is failing most likely? I ordered a Nucleus One last night cuz I figured this was bad oh well hopefully can sell this one but will wait to see what you guys say thanks again @vadim @connor

Thanks for the update @james_cortez!

You are correct in that, based on the screenshot you’ve shared, the m.2 SSD is failing and needs to be replaced.

I’ve already pinged our Nucleus Team (who has your RMA ticket in their queue) and updated them with your findings. They’ll follow up with you for next steps and your options with your machine. :+1:

Ok thank you will wait to hear.

Hello @James_Cortez,

Thank you for the update. We are marking this thread as solved for now — all further communication will take place via email with the RMA team.
