I have a Samsung T7 containing all my music attached to my Nucleus and it works fine. A while ago I made a backup of the music on a Samsung T5, but when I plug it into the Nucleus, it doesn’t read it–shows 0 albums, etc. But my Mac Studio does see and play the music on the T5. I’ve tried rebooting everything, including the iPad I use to control the Nucleus but nothing has worked.
How did you format the drive? If it uses HFS (Apple-only), the Nucleus won’t be able to read it. Ideally, use exFAT for beat compatibility on USB drives.
It does use ExFat format. But thank you PlanetBrain.
Okay, it’s possible that the drive wasn’t unmounted cleanly. Therefore, connect to the Mac, perform a check, and unmount. Then, connect to tbe Nucleus.
Thanks. I tried that but no dice. If it helps diagnose the issue, when I plug the T5 into the Nucleus, the little blue light on it flashes for maybe a second or so before going solid, while the T7 (the one that works) flashes more like 20 seconds or so.
It’s probably time to ask Roon for support. They can check the logs to pinpoint the issue.

Have you tried a different cable, USB cables have been known to fail
I have. I initially used a cable already attached to the T5, and when that didn’t work I just used the same cable that had been attached to the T7 and worked perfectly for years.
