Nucleus One audio dropouts and losing the audio end points solved by memory upgrade

I would like to share that prior to upgrading the Nucleus One memory, I had been having audio dropouts and Roon losing visibility of my Totaldac Streamer.

I have been struggling with this issue with a small collection of 400 albums and 4000+ tracks so I did not initially suspect Nucleus One to be the culprit. I dont use any dsp or multi-room zones and library background audio analysis is scheduled. I had gone round the mulberry bush checking the Totaldac d1-streamer (which worked fine with CD input) but drops when streaming with Nucleus One. Upgraded my network switch as well, thinking that the network was probably the issue.

So the last thing I did, was to upgrade the 4GB ram to 16GB. That did the trick.

So, my two cents, is that the Nucleus One memory of 4GB is seriously inadequate and if you are getting dropouts, upgrading the memory would be a possible solution.

Glad you solved your problem. My Nucleus One plays fine with 3500 albums and 65000 cuts. Are you sure your WiFi is in good shape?

That’s an interesting result. I had a Nucleus Rev. A with well over 4K albums and it played just fine. I wonder if reseating the memory module(s) may have fixed a problem rather than the additional memory. Just seems unlikely that more memory was required with such a small library.

thats what I thought as well. you could be right that the memory module might have been a problem. Well, it’s good that you have a different experience. Mine is very specific to an all ethernet setup connected to a totaldac streamer.
