Nucleus one questions

As of now I am using a pc for the core and a m.2 drive enclosed in a case with a usb out attached to the htpc.
In roon I only have that drive as a folder storage. That way I use the pc to put in the new albums in the correct place that I want them to be via the file explorer in win 11.
But is it also possible on an internal storage for the nucleus one?

I got into the roon eco system the moment you could browse through your local files. I want to get access to all my local files, not let roon tell me where to put it or not let it see them and all.
When I have the unit I just use it like a pc or any other hifi system, only put it on when in use. So I guess I can use my existing drive and attach it to the back of the unit. Then when it’s off. Just plug it into the pc, make my changes, and Re-attach it. Now when I put the unit on it will detect the changes. Just like it works now.

And can anyone tell me that the benefit is by putting in a local hdd over using an external hdd. If this is only the speed it’s no issue for me. At this point of time I don’t have any speed issues on my htpc using win 11. I only use it for one device at a time and it’s all hooked up via internet cable.

You can use File Explorer to copy/transfer files and folders from your PC to either a USB drive attached to a Nucleus One or to its optional internal 2.5" drive. Because Microsoft has recently increased security of the use of SMB, you will probably have to follow the steps given in this article first:

If you intend to move the USB drive back and forth between a Nucleus One and your PC, and it is in NTFS format, then it is very important to safely eject it from Windows - don’t just pull the USB cable out from your PC.

The drive is in exFAT thanks for the info.

There isn’t. External USB speeds are more than adequate for music playback.

There are actually drawbacks, imho. The internal drive in a Nucleus cannot be the target of database backups since you cannot have that backup in a Watched Location. With external drives, you can setup a Watched location for music and an unwatched location for database backups.
