Apologies — I didn’t read through the whole thing earlier. I’ve uploaded a zipped version again. Thanks for pointing that out.
Thanks for sending those over @Nicholas_Chan1! Our team will take a closer look and I should have more information to share this week. Thanks for your continued patience here!
It happened again today. I have already uploaded a new set of log files for your reference. Thank you in advance for your help in reviewing these files and identifying any issues that may have contributed to this recurrence.
Hey @Nicholas_Chan1,
Thanks for sharing the update! You have my apologies if this has been glazed over, but can you please access the webUI again and perform a RoonOS reinstall and let me know if you run into the same issue?
If you do, I’d like to then test to see if the same issue occurs on a fresh database (only temporarily):
- Create a Backup of your current Roon Database
- Stop RoonServer from running in Nucleus’s WebUI
- Navigate to your Nucleus’ Database Location
- Find the folder that says “RoonServer”
- Rename the “RoonServer” folder to “RoonServer_old”
- Restart the RoonServer in the WebUI to generate a new Database
- On the Roon Remotes, press “Use another Roon Server” and connect to the new database
Before restoring a backup, let me know if the same issue occurs. Thank you!
I’ve reinstalled the RoonOS as requested. Let’s monitor the system to see if the issue persists. I’ll report back with any updates or if the same problem reoccurs.
Thanks for your guidance!
I get the same issue then you and others… Did the Reinstall Roon OS from the WebUI solved the problem ?
I finally upgraded the RAM memory to 16Gb and so far no crashes nor reboot and backup are finally finishing correctly.
40k albums and you must upgrade the memory of every Nucleus One. I would have appreciate Roon to give this information more clearly slight_smile:

Hi @Nicholas_Chan1,
Certainly let us know how performance feels!
Thanks for checking in! After reinstalling the Roon OS for a couple of days, it hasn’t happened yet. It seems like it might have fixed my problem, but I’m still not sure. I’ll give it a few more days to be certain. Thank you for your support!
Nic
Hi @Nicholas_Chan1,
Thanks for sending those over! Based on the logs, it looks like your Nucleus was crashing during track import and identification. Had you attempted to restore a backup or import / sync any media during this time?
How many playlists do you typically have, and what is your average number of tracks that would fall under ‘Various Artists’?
Thank you!
Thanks for looking into this!
I wasn’t performing any backup or restore, nor was I syncing any media during the crash. I only have one playlist. As for the average number of tracks under “Various Artists,” I’m not sure how to check that—could you please advise how to find this information?
Thanks again!
Hey @Nicholas_Chan1,
Got it, thanks for the info. To filter your Various Artists:
- Go to Albums view.
- Use the Filter box (top left in the album browser).
- Type: Various Artists
That said, did you ever try running your Nucleus on a completely fresh database? I’d be curious to see if the same issue occurs:
Thank you!
