I’ve been a ROON user for some 6 years now (with a lifetime license).
Started on WINDOWS and then ran my ROON core on a QNAP NAS for many years.
In springtime this year my smartphone/Tablet couldn’t control the Core anymore so I finally decided to buy a Nucleus One to hopefully get away with all kinds of frustrating occasional SW flaws that used to appear on and off after months of trouble-free operation without any changes in my setup and somehow always disappeared on their own as well.
installation of my Nucleus in April/May worked as expected but then - more and more as days went by - smartphone/tablet connection with the Nucleus became harder and harder even if the system was up and playing music - they suddenly would “loose” each other, to the degree that i needed to power off the Nucleus to stop the music from playing. Countless router and nucleus restarts and App De- and Reinstallations later I gave up and went on holiday in June.
4 weeks (and obviously 2 updates) later I switched on again on a day when I felt strong enough to face another frustration - and suddenly everything ran as smooth as silk - incl. ARC for the first time in my personal ROON history plus my preferred German internet radio stations.
After one happy month the latest update brought problems back (I swear I dint touch my routerv or renderer or else) : My ANDROID interfaces could again not connect to the Nucleus anymore for several days and my internet radio stations won’t play anymore and ARC is not possible anymore.
A week later (now) Connectivity is back but Internet radio and ARC are not.
Considering the price I paid for the SW years ago this random “works/doesnt work” experience is pretty disappointing since I need to be prepared for frustration every single time I open my control App.
I am aware that you are permanently working on improving the system - but the last series of upgrades came with unbearable performance drop-outs on a long-running system.
greetings from a disillusioned musiv lover …
