Oppo 203 network standby / visibility in Roon Controller

Hi - I’m using an Oppo 203 as an endpoint in my home cinema system and I would very much like to be able to start it playing from the Roon Controller app without having to turn on the system first. If Roon can turn on the Oppo then I can use its 12v trigger to turn on the amp…

I’ve set it in network standby and had a thorough look for any other relevant settings, it will not appear as an available ‘zone’ in the Controller unless and until it’s separately switched on.

Anyone else encountered this and figured out how to work around? FYI it can be turned on over the network via its own controller app.

Thanks!

Hi, I’m also having the same issue - Roon doesn’t see my 203, yet it sees all my Sonos speakers.

I’ve power-cycled everything, including the router, but no joy.

Most of the time, even after I’ve switched on my 203, Roon STILL doesn’t see it.

What I then have to do is play something from the PC hosting the Roon Server over the network, and then magically the 203 appears in Roon.

Sounds like you have to wake up (parts of) your PC from power save (state). Find the offending setting and turn it off might resolve your issue. From your description it might be a power save setting for the network card.

I doubt it’s that, because I was accessing websites & files hosted on the PC from my laptop before trying to fire up the music.
