I have the original nineties Beatles Anthology double-cd’s, the separate parts 1, 2 and 3. I’ve ripped those cd’s many many years ago as AIF files, and those files moved in 2020 to my new NAS. Also since 2020 I’ve got Roon, and the Anthology rips are in my Roon library since then. And now all of a sudden those 6 cd’s are in my library as the new 2025 Anthology set, and the original nineties cd’s have disappeared frm my library. What happened??? And how can I turn it back to how it was?
What I would try: Go to the new anthology and then manually split them up into the 3 old anthologies (select all the titles of an antholgy by clicking on every title that belongs to this anthology). Then go to edit - Identify album, and then manually identify each anthology by choose from the list that will be given (I assume, the three original anthologies are still there).
Mine are all streaming from Tidal and Qobuz, but I can see them all, Anthology 1 through 4 plus the new Anthology Collection. I prefer it this way.
Alright, after trying the proposed solution from Stefan (thanks!) which did not do what I tried to achieve, I found another way. Via the ‘Folders’ view in Roon I could easily select both seperate cd’s of Anthology 1, turned on ‘edit’, then ‘group tracks’, then ‘create album’ and it immediately found the original nineties metadata. Repeat for anthologies 2 and 3. Case closed!
