PEQ in roon to match Yamaha loudness control ?( Or tone controls)

Did someone setup a PEQ like that for low listening levels that kinda does what Yamaha is doing with their loudness option? I think it just boosts bass and treble by +3 db but what frequencies should i do ?

Thanks !

You can’t really do this with peq as loudness values tend alter with volume changes they have a range they work in then stop being effective. This range will have levels that change the bass and treble frequencies amplitudes based on the volume being played. PEQ is fixed and cannot change with volume. You can make one to work at one level but for other albums that have different dynamic ranges and compression it won’t work as well and will boost the frequencies too much or too little and you loose dynamics.

It will also be different for each user due to room acoustics and environmental noise. You would need to experiment doing it yourself. Usually it’s bass boost and a treble boost at specific frequencies that would start at say + 6db then would reduce as you up the volume on the amp until it’s not applied at all at a certain volume. But all you can do is have it fixed at one value for all volume levels or turn it off. Start at 80hz for the bass and perhaps 6khz for treble adjust the values until it sounds ok you want peak adjustments and an adjust Q value to widen or limit the surrounding freq see how you get on. Adjust until it sounds similar to normal listening levels for balance of freq.
