Permanently setting Albums to sort by Title (in My Library > Albums)

I think this used to be possible. But (after recent updates?) the sort order of ‘My Albums’ always reverts to By Date; I want by Title permanently/by default.

Is that possible, please?

Mine stays on whatever I choose, as always. (But I’m on Early Access)

as far as I know it stays set on what you last selected , so if you set to “album title” it should stay there

there is no setting you can click to force that as a default (that I know about)

Thanks, Mario and Mike!

That’s the behavior I expect; but now it’s always starting on Date Added.

Not too onerous - except that I entitle every album with ‘Composer:’so as to sort that way. Now I can’t:face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Is this behaviour happening on all Roon Remotes, or just the one?

may be OS specific glitch I’m looking on a windows one and it sticks to your last choice , i’ll check ipad later,

Ipad behaves normally too ???

Geoff,

Thanks. I only have the one installation: 2.64 (build 1646) on macOS 26.4.1.

In case I was missing something, I just checked. For my previous(/’last’/most recent) Roon session I set it to ‘SORT BY’ ‘Album Title’ towards the top right on My Albums just to the left of ‘Filter’.

Launch just now has everything sorted by Date Added.

It’s not a huge task to change it. I even created a Bookmark with all Albums sorted by Title… two keypresses.

Just that it always used to stick and I’d say starting with the last couple or so of updates it won’t  .

Yes, it changes. Some updates maintain the previous sort selection, some don’t. However, once you change it, it should stick until the next update.

This is not the only customized setting which sometimes isn’t sticky between updates. Play Actions sometimes resets for me. Now, I find the issue more acute for the Linux side of things (Linux, RoonOS, MacOS) than for Windows. My Windows server hasn’t lost Album sort or Play Action settings for … years.

Hi Daniel  !

Thanks. Yes. Not a really big bug; just a little ‘nuisancette’.

Quite understand how an update might clobber (such) a setting.

But once the update is settled in, I’d have expected the setting in question to stay constant. In this case it doesn’t.

Worth reporting for fixing after April 20th, would you say?
