Pico display for RoPieee

I know that I can use a 7" display, but what about a small display to display the most minimal information about the artist and song playing? Has anyone done something like that, and if so, how? https://cdn11.bigcommerce.com/s-2fbyfnm8ev/images/stencil/1280x1280/products/2465/8865/2.13inch-e-paper-hat-plus-1__39120.1730139021.jpg?c=2

this would be neat

While not as small as the one you linked to, a 5" display works just fine.

It needs to be a DSI screen, not HDMI.

Beyond that most work fine (I use a waveshare 5" one) but there’s no guarantee and Harry doesnt support them since there are yoo many variants.

I’ve had one beta release that broke my non-official screen for no obvious reason (but not the official one). Next release was fine.

Well, I had to re-engineer the screen functionality because of the ‘almost-ready-display-2-support’. That also comes with another advantage: the possibility to ‘relatively easy’ add support for other screens, like the Waveshare ones.

Just sayin’

Thanks Harry, since mine worked I wasn’t too fussed , but I’m certainly happy for it to become a “legit option”.

In my case it’s definitely an inferior screen (backlight never turns 100% off unless I manually solder a 1mm capacitor) but at 4.3" (the same size as the Pi) it is a much better mini player to disappear into a corner.
