Planning to build a newer model NUC/ROCK server with UEFI

I’m planning to build an up to date NUC/ROCK server as a replacement for my original NUC8I7BEH/ROCK server from 2019.

Looking at the ASUS NUC 13 Pro i7. I’d rather have the latest higher performance model but I’m sticking with the supported version.

I’ve read about issues with HDMI on the newer models and was hoping for verification that HDMI does work with Roon on the ASUS NUC 13 Pro.

Please advise.

I dunno but the documentation is weird once again. Does NUC12**+** mean “12 and higher”? They should be more explicit about it

Edit: Release notes from 2024 saying they added it:

Thanks for that info. I tried a few searches in the forum but wasn’t able to find what I was looking for.

I replaced my 7th gen Intel NUC with an ASUS NUC 13 i5 model. HDMI audio works perfectly.

Thanks @Geoff_Coupe and @Suedkiez for the responses.

The i7 version has 2 cpu’s listed, Intel Core i7-13620H and Intel core i7-1360P.

I’m going with the 13620H. Comparing the CPU in my NUC8i7BEH, the 13620H is significantly faster in single threaded and multi-threaded performance even though the NUC8 has a higher base frequency 2.8 vs 2.4.

That should overcome the one issue I have with the NUC8 which is the cpu getting dragged down to 1x and skipping when Roon Radio selects a DSD 256 5.1 file for followup over HDMI. The conversion from DSD MC to PCM MC during playback is to much for the NUC8 cpu.
