This has existed in Roon ARC for years now.
They provide no way to play audio in Roon. You’d have to give up bit-perfect playback, non-Airplay streaming, and DSP. This is one we’d love to do, but there is no flexibility in this on their end.
In this case, Drops was introduced to Roon subscribers as it was assumed many would find it useful, and as an early release of an upcoming product. A perk of being loyal Rooners.
Many Rooners have been quite active on Drops and we’ve been receiving a lot of great feedback. It’s been mostly positive and/or constructive. On this forum, it’s been overshadowed by the negative and dominated with a tone of privilege, but that’s OK. To paraphrase the Roon founders from the early days of Roon: we have thick skin and aren’t offended.
Also, hope you all got to try out the latest Roon release that was highly focused on performance! So far, the feedback has been great.
