Please make ‘playback quality’ in Roon Arc link to Muse presets and allow bitrate conversion *before* sending to the phone

Right now in Roon Arc, you can set a global playback quality of ‘original quality’, ‘cd quality’ etc. This setting allows you to globally lower the bitrate and save data.

I think this would be better under the presets section and save it per preset……

I use Arc in the car with Android Auto. This seems to insist on converting the incoming stream to 48Khz 24 bit locally.

I also use Arc on the same phone on a cellular connection with a DAC and want to listen without adjusting the bitrate.

Arc ‘knows’ if I’m in the car and it also knows if I’m using the DAC.

If I leave the global quality setting to ‘original’, it wastes data when I’m in the car as it transmits at (for example) 192k and then downsamples on the phone. Best compromise here is global CD setting then upsample within Muse.

I then need to manually remember to turn it back to ‘original’ if I use my DAC otherwise it’s still capped at CD quality.

It would be better if the sample rate conversion worked like regular Roon so it’s tied to the device as opposed to a global setting.

Thanks
