Poll for those who don’t use ARC to ascertain if it’s don’t want to or can’t

The only issue I have with ARC now is it playing just the first track in a queue, then stopping, indicating the queue is empty.
If you close and reopen the app, the queue reappears and you can restart play.
This makes it unusable in the car for me and so I use Plexamp.

Unfortunately my experience is the opposite. With the last few updates it’s gets worse and worse not just connection issues, but now it won’t show what’s playing on my car radio (first time this has ever happened).

I hardly play ARC now and mostly use Spotify, and sad to say but it’s also put me of Roon in general.

I just noticed this thread, and was going to make a post stating I have never had Roon ARC work, ever, the dozen or so times I have tried it, and just checked it again to make sure, and it is actually working! In my house 20 feet from the server at least.

I think the only time I will use it is in the garage, plugged into the USB port in the front of an old Marantz receiver for tunes while I work on the car.

In the car I just stream via slacker, as it is easy, free and I don’t really care otherwise- good enough. I used to stream Tidal in the car but cancelled the subscription and use Qobuz at home. In areas I get no cell signal I change to a USB stick.

Why Can’t you use the standard Roon Phone app to play in your garage. Set your phone To be an endpoint and then play to a Bluetooth speaker. Normally phones are set to be private in settings/audio so you might need to change that.

Thanks for the option, but I’m not buying a bluetooth speaker for this purpose. I already have an old Marantz receiver, with an old set of Martin Logan surround sound speakers, all wired up with genuine copper wires.

You an plug a USB dac into your phone as well and use the standard software. My point is that arc is not needed in your situation.

Accidental pocket delete

I’m stopping by to thank Roon for creating a fantastic product. I avoided ARC because I thought it was dumb and didn’t understand what was happening.

I use a FortiGate 70f firewall. The configuration was easy, and Roon ARC has changed my life for the better. What an incredible addition to the Roon ecosystem. My playlists follow me. I no longer have 50 screenshots of tidal albums I discover while on the road; instead, I add them to a playlist that is waiting for me at home.

I love Roon; the discovery engine and Roon radio have opened my eyes to new music in ways I’ve never experienced.

Thank you,

Bryce
