Description of Issue -

What is the exact port forwarding error message you see in the Roon Settings → ARC tab?

{
“connectivity”: {“status”:“NetworkError”,“status_code”:504,“error”:“error: Error: ETIMEDOUT, response code: undefined, body: undefined connected? undefined”},
“external_ip”: {“actual_external_ip”:“205.ddd.eee.fff”,“router_external_ip”:“null”},
“natpmp_autoconfig”: {“status”:“NotFound”},
“upnp_autoconfig”: {“server_ip”:“192.168.1.1”,“found_upnp”:true,“error”:“Did not find UPnP service with WANIPConnection on network”}
}

The UPnP option is On the the SR516ac menu. This is a new modem I got from my supplier, as my previous one (Smart RG SR505) didn’t work either with ARC.

Any help would be appreciated (I tried the tech support from B2B2C but they were useless).

Thx!

Why not set the port forwarding manually in the router? Just add a rule for the IP of the core and the port (192.168.1.4 & 55002)

Hello Bernd, thx for the tip! I did try that on my older router (with the assistance of a friend who is more familiar than I am with network stuff), it did not work. DMZ did work however but we shut it down.

Hello @Bruno_Cardinal.

Take a look at the below youtube video, i think this should help with setting a manual port forwarding.

Kind regards,

Maarten

How are things going, @Bruno_Cardinal?

Did the video help? How can I help?

Thanks,
Wes

Hello @Wes , I’m good thank you. The video kindly shared by @Maarten_Duits is usefull but I am still confused about the setting needed on the modem to activate port forwarding… I will have acess to some help next week, will follow up.

There’s no doubt it’s not the easiest thing in the world to do! You might also ask your ISP for help with this as they may be aware of certain subtleties with regard to their services.

Let us know!
