Phones don’t have the grunt to perform this locally without destroying the battery. DSP via ARC is all done on the device to keep bandwidth between core and device limited as as if you where to upsample via core as an example you could saturate your cellular connection. Convolution is also a very processor heavy task compared to PEQ.
