Prioritize streaming over local files

I’m new to Roon, hoping someone can help me with a solution or workaround for the below problem:

My local files have far worse quality than what’s available on streaming services because pre-2010, I had been ripping CDs into iTunes without putting thought into the import quality settings. Since 2010, most of my music consumption has been through streaming, but I’d still like to use this library as an input for Roon’s discovery engine, and for occasional browsing.

Is there any way to have Roon prioritize streaming sources over local files whenever streaming is available? In the support article for Streaming Preferences, it does not seem possible, but hoping for any workarounds.

Welcome to the Roon community, @tr1.

If you go to a local album in your library, click on the Versions tab. For examplve …

If you add a streaming version to your library, this will become the primary version if it is higher quality.

Whilst you will need to do this for every release, there are online tools that can help. Soundiiz will automatically match your local albums with a streaming service.

Is this automatic when you do a transfer or is there a setting to set?
Thanks!

You’ll need to Export your library from Roon …

Select the Soundiiz option, and then load into your Soundiiz account. If you haven’t done so already, you’ll need to connect TIDAL and / or Qobuz to Soundiiz. Once you’ve done this, Soundiiz will match your library with the streaming service, and mark them as favourites. When this is done, they will automatically load into Roon.

You’ll need a 1-month subscription to perform this action.

Thank you very much! Appreciated!
I keep a Soundiiz account active as it comes in handy so frequently.
