Today I noticed something wonky about adding pics to a post using my iPad 10th gen and iPhone 12 Pro, both running iOS 26.3. I haven’t tried it on my Windows 11 PC yet.
If I type any text in the reply box first, the tool to add a pic does not work (it doesn’t respond at all). However, if I add the pic first before typing any text, it works normally.
It didn’t use to be a problem adding a pic in the middle of a post, so something has changed (very annoying!).
Anyone else experiencing this?
Yes. It’s a bug in the new Discourse software they upgraded to several days ago. I have found the solution to be to tap on the blue title of the thread at the top of the reply editor, which reduces the size of the editor from full-screen to bottom-screen. Then, the insert picture icon works.

Your workaround works on iOS devices. I just tried it on the Windows 11 PC and it works normally as before with no workaround required.
Yes. This is only an issue with iOS.

I always simply paste pictures from the clipboard onto the post. Doesn’t need any buttons.
