I’ve been tinkering with upmixing in Roon. For this purpose I have created the procedural EQ shown in the picture. It consists of 4 steps: upmixing, gain, delay, and finally EQing only the surround channels (high pass and low pass filter to limit response to approx. 120-7000Hz). Order is important because obviously before the mixing step, the surrounds don’t contain any sound.
However, the signal path shows a Parametric EQ step before the Procedural EQ step. This raises two questions:
- Where does this step come from? (I did not add a Parametric EQ filter explicitely, only as part of the Procedural EQ)
- Is the correct order maintained?
