Hi,
I’ve noticed a consistent discrepancy between the artist discography shown in Roon’s Qobuz browser and what appears in the official Qobuz client.
When browsing an artist (in my case, AZKi — a Japanese virtual artist on hololive production) via the Qobuz section in Roon, only a fraction of the albums visible in the official Qobuz app are shown. Searching for the missing album titles directly in Roon also returns no results, so this doesn’t appear to be a library/added state issue — Roon simply isn’t surfacing those albums from Qobuz at all.
I understand that Roon applies its own metadata layer on top of streaming catalog data, and that this can cause mismatches — particularly for artists outside the Western mainstream (J-pop, VTubers, anime-adjacent releases, etc.) where metadata coverage tends to be thinner.
What I’d suggest:
- Fall back to the raw Qobuz catalog for discography display when Roon’s own metadata doesn’t have a match, rather than silently omitting albums
- Or at minimum, surface albums that exist in Qobuz but couldn’t be matched to Roon’s database, perhaps with a visual indicator
This gap makes Roon feel unreliable as a front-end for Qobuz when it comes to non-mainstream artists, and pushes users back to the native app — which defeats the purpose of integration.
Thanks for considering this.
